The project brief for Port Phillip Eco-centre is to update the current promotional and informative materials. This is to create a consistent and cohesive design across the applications including the brochures, canvas bags, website and online promotional material. This project should bring awareness to the responsibility of the environment as well as inform and promote their current educational services.
The design we created incorporates elements of recycled materials, as this created an organic and earthy vibe that the Port Phillip Eco-centre desired. Our designs follow the tagline “Lighten Your Step” by staying simple, clean and utilising negative space and cropping. A large feature of our design is our penguin character which reflects what the Ecocentre is most known for, and this penguin brings in a playful element that fits in with the educational services that are provided.
The final outcome of our designs includes a consistent style that is incorporated across all the applications. The penguin was created into a short animation that can be shared on social media as well as the website. Our other outcomes include 3 brochures, each for different categories of programs that are offered, a canvas bag, a website landing page, an online promotional poster and an online template for upcoming events that can be shared on social media.
