In 2019 Deakin University’s Design & Collaboration unit was run as a singular discipline for the last time with students from Visual Communication Design collaborating with each other and 13 various not-for-profit organisations throughout Victoria and Australia. These projects culminated in a physical exhibition at both Deakin Burwood and Waterfront campuses. Branded and event managed by a group of 3rd year students, “Alchemy” saw student groups present their project process and prototypes to a live audience.
We were very pleased to have a number of design industry professionals provide feedback and present awards to student groups, and thank Michael Canturi R-Co, Zaidee Jackson Ball & Doggett, Leigh Ryan Pillowfort, Lach Ryan Ruck and Clare Westwood Victor Fox for their time and generosity.
