This campaign is centred around a resource pack for students with the inclusion of both digital and physical collateral that helps students gain empathy and another’s point of view through engaging activities.
Big Group Hug is a not-for-profit organisation based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne that provides material aid and support to vulnerable young children and families experiencing hardship. Since 2014, the work of the organisation has been centred around 3 core principles – building strong families, strong communities and a more sustainable world.
Many Australian students are disengaged from social justice issues and unaware of the stigma around poverty and hardship within their community. ‘Guide to Social Justice’ aims to help children understand social issues surrounding disadvantage and help them effectively learn about social justice, as well as encourage involvement in their own community.
By promoting kids helping kids, Big Group Hug passionately aims to educate naive yet inquisitive primary school students about social disadvantages, while increasing their community involvement and aiding in the development of empathy and compassion. Utilising their friendly and welcoming organisation to inform and support both the unaware and the disadvantaged.
