Yusuke grew up under the shadow of Mt Fuji in Shizuoka-ken. He is an independent animator, educator and researcher who specialises in stop-motion puppet animation. He builds characters by hand crafting an animatable figure through a process involving sculpting the original model, creating a mold and then casting the character from latex mounted on a metal armature. His process is intricate, and labour-intensive. He hand-makes the clothes, shoes and other features of his characters.
The process of building characters and sets and animating them is just one of his many skills. Yusuke also works in motion graphics, hand-drawn animation and has also produced TV commercials and contributed stop-motion puppet animation footage to Generations from Exile Tribe’s recent music video clip Super Shine.
