The Collaborative Design Project is where Deakin Design students develop real-world skills working directly with real-world clients to help solve tangible issues that the clients and their audiences face.
Our design teams work under the guidance of a project director to extend the scope of the client briefs by following a human-centred design process and practice. This enables our teams to understand and connect with both the client and their audience and develop solutions that truly respond to the problems identified through this process. The projects centre around improving methods of communication through design, animation and interactive technologies.
This program is highly valued by our partners, students and potential employers, as reflected in feedback by all those involved in the program and the successful implementation of many of the student-led project proposals.
The projects we engage with have the potential to improve social wellbeing across Australia through partnering with a variety of not-for-profit organisations.
We welcome new proposals to collaborate on and encourage potential partners to reach out to discuss issues they face that can be explored through this program.
