Alchemy 2019 (Deakin Design & Collaboration)

In 2019 Deakin University’s Design & Collaboration unit was run as a singular discipline for the last time with students from Visual Communication Design collaborating with each other and 13 various not-for-profit organisations throughout Victoria and Australia. These projects culminated in a physical exhibition at both Deakin Burwood and Waterfront campuses. Branded and event managed by a group of 3rd year students, “Alchemy” saw student groups present their project process and prototypes to a live audience.

We were very pleased to have a number of design industry professionals provide feedback and present awards to student groups, and thank Michael Canturi R-Co, Zaidee Jackson Ball & Doggett, Leigh Ryan Pillowfort, Lach Ryan Ruck and Clare Westwood Victor Fox for their time and generosity.

We thank our 2019 collaborative partners for working with our students to develop briefs that allowed them to creatively resolve communication issues they faced:
